Capital Markets Union (CMU) is intended to make European capital markets more accessible to corporates (especially SMEs and infrastructure projects), who otherwise might be limited to bank loans. Key measures include encouraging growth in venture capital investment, addressing the information gap with respect to SMEs, assessing the need for consumer protection measures for crowdfunding and standardizing private placement documentation.
