Biography

Andrew Buisson is a projects lawyer based in London. He advises on non-contentious matters in the infrastructure and construction/engineering sectors, and is regarded for his significant experience in PPP concession arrangements, project-financed and conventionally-funded construction contracts, and operation and maintenance agreements.

Andrew has particular experience of advising on major infrastructure transactions in the transport (rail, roads, airports and ports), social accommodation (schools, hospitals), energy, telecoms, mining and nuclear sectors, advising a wide range of sponsors, lenders, contractors and public sector bodies in a wide variety of jurisdictions, with a particular focus on work in emerging markets.

Andrew has worked closely with institutions such as the Global Infrastructure Hub and the African Legal Support Facility to develop materials on PPP Risk Allocation and PPP guidance materials, and has spoken extensively at conferences and seminars on these subjects and provided capacity building to many government departments and private sector lawyers.

Andrew is committed to the development of legal expertise in Africa, and works closely with the International Lawyers for Africa (ILFA) Programme, through a combination of secondments, seminars, coaching and in-country outreach.
