Biography
Maartje Govaert is Norton Rose Fulbright's Global Head of Employment and Labour, and an employment and certified pension lawyer based in Amsterdam. She has extensive experience of all aspects of employment law, including: works' council issues; restructuring and reorganizations; outsourcing; pensions; data protection; discrimination and harassment issues; and the full spectrum of contentious and non-contentious work.
Maartje has a wealth of knowledge of individual and collective employment law matters. She has advised numerous national and international companies on the employment aspects of cross-border acquisitions, restructurings, reorganizations, employment conditions and outsourcing projects. This includes negotiating with works councils and unions on social plans.
Maartje also advises on corporate governance and remuneration issues (including pensions), executive appointments and terminations. Much of her work has an international angle. She has particular knowledge of handling highly sensitive and confidential matters affecting employers and works' councils.
