Biography

Maryam Malakotipour is a banking and finance lawyer based in Amsterdam. 

Maryam focuses on banking transactions and corporate restructuring. Maryam primarily advises banks, other financial institutions and corporates on domestic and cross-border transactions including asset-based lending, project finance and acquisition finance. She also advises lenders, lender-groups and distressed companies in corporate restructurings.

Maryam holds a doctorate degree (PhD) from the University of Amsterdam. Her PhD dissertation delves into the effects of legal reforms in insolvency law and banking regulations on corporates' access to debt financing and financial stability. She has a strong command of the Basel Framework, the EU Capital Requirements Regulation (CRR) and insolvency rules in the Netherlands, Germany, and the US.
