Norton Rose Fulbright advises BMW on mobility joint venture with Daimler

Global law firm Norton Rose Fulbright has advised Bayerische Motoren Werke Aktiengesellschaft (BMW) on a joint venture with Daimler AG (Daimler) combining their global mobility services. The transaction was led by partners Frank Henkel and Dr Katrin Stiess.

Subject to approval by the relevant competition authorities, BMW and Daimler will unify their services regarding car sharing, ride-hailing, parking, charging and multimodality. Both companies will each hold 50 percent of the shares in the joint venture, which will solely comprise both groups' mobility services.

BMW will contribute to the joint venture with its car sharing service DriveNow, its multi modal service ReachNow and its mobility services for charging and parking. Daimler will join with its ride-hailing services mytaxi, Chauffeur Privé, Clevertaxi and Taxibeat, also with its car sharing service car2go and its multi modal platform moovel.

Norton Rose Fulbright has previously advised BMW on the buy-out of several minority shareholders in Parkmobile.
