Biography

Mohammed Al-Ghamdi, a Saudi national, works in the Riyadh office. Mr. Al-Ghamdi is actively involved in commercial transactions, including joint ventures, licensing and distribution agreements, as well as in commercial litigation in the Saudi courts and local and international arbitration. He joined the firm in 2006 from the Kadasa Law Firm. Prior to joining the Kadasa Law Firm, he practiced law in Washington, DC, as an international legal consultant with an American law firm. He received a letter of appreciation and prize from Prince Bandar bin Sultan bin Abdul Aziz, the Saudi Arabian Ambassador to the United States of America, for achievement of high academic standing in legal studies.

  • Counsel to a global consumer products company in defense of Saudi Board of Grievances action to terminate its Saudi Commercial Agent/Distributor of more than 30 years. Case tried to final judgment determination that no damages were owed by our client.
  • Counsel to one of world's largest aerospace and defense contractors in connection with a continuing Saudi Board of Grievances case regarding its Saudi joint venture limited liability company and application of the Saudi Companies Law and corporate governance practices.
  • Counsel to a Saudi-US joint venture company in defending a breach of contract claim in the Saudi Board of Grievances, and involving complex jurisdiction, arbitration, forum and civil procedures issues.
  • Counsel to a leading off-shore oil rig services firm in connection with bankruptcy-workout and related Saudi Board of Grievances dispute regarding corporate authority, due authorization of a contract for sale of assets, and assignment of a lease involving a Saudi entity in the process of liquidation.
  • Advised a Saudi airline on a variety of Saudi and international legal issues as part of its in-house legal department.
  • Lead counsel to a large Saudi mining company in structuring its contracts and concessions on related railway project.
  • Lead counsel to several major international defense contractors in connection with labor and litigation matters, including termination of multiple employees, end of service awards and related issues.
  • Lead litigation counsel for a major defense contractor before the Saudi Board of Grievances in connection with construction subcontractor dispute.
  • Lead counsel to a leading Asian financial services company in matters related to Saudi labor and contract issues.
  • Legal advice to  borrowers and guarantors for Saudi-related conventional and Islamic financings, including capacity and enforceability opinions. 
  • Legal advice to Saudi Arabian joint stock companies and limited liability companies on corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions, share transfers, and joint venture activities.
  • Lead counsel to a large Saudi mining company in structuring its contracts and concessions on related railway project.
  • Lead counsel to international investment banking firm with regards to its CMA compliance, transactions, and other aspects of operations in Saudi Arabia.
