Biography
Chris Aird is a project finance lawyer based in London. His focus is on renewables and the energy transition.
Chris has experience advising sponsors, lenders, export credit agencies and multilaterals on the financing, construction and development of major energy projects, including onshore wind, offshore wind, solar, CCUS and low carbon projects, in the United Kingdom, Europe, Africa.
Chris is ranked as a “leading associate” and “key lawyer” by Legal 500 UK for Projects, energy and natural resources: renewables.

· Ocean Winds on all aspects of the development and financing of the Moray West offshore wind project, including negotiating CPPAs with two major global corporates.
· A consortium of 30 banks and 4 export credit agencies on the £5.5bn project financing of all three phases of 3.6GW Dogger Bank offshore wind farm
· The sponsor on all aspects of its shareholding, holdco financing and development of the 1.5GW Baltica II offshore wind project in Poland
· Lenders in relation to all aspects of the financing of various offshore wind projects in the UK, including Inch Cape, Seagreen and London Array
· Quinbrook Infrastructure Partners on the financing of the Cleve Hill Solar Park, a co-located solar plus BESS project located in the UK, involving the then largest CPPA for solar power in the UK
· Lenders on the financing of the BC Wind offshore wind farm in Poland, being developed by Ocean Winds
· Scatec ASA in relation to the financing of a 1GW solar and battery storage project located in Egypt
