The new leading decision procedure in Germany’s Federal Court of Justice: Higher efficiency in handling mass proceedings?

The “Act to introduce a Leading Decision Procedure at the Federal Court of Justice” (the Act) - “Gesetz zur Einführung eines Leitentscheidungsverfahrens beim Bundesgerichtshof (BGH)” (Federal Law Gazette 2024 I No. 328) allows the Federal Court of Justice (FCJ) to clarify relevant legal issues for a large number of similar cases.
