Norton Rose Fulbright advises Signal Iduna and msg systems on SDA SE expansion

Germany Press release - Business December 2019

Global law firm Norton Rose Fulbright advised Signal Iduna Holding AG (Signal Iduna) and msg group GmbH (msg), an IT consulting company, on its joint venture with Allianz X and Debeka, a German insurance and financial services provider.

In this venture, Allianz X, the digital investment unit of the Allianz Group, and Debeka will join Signal Iduna and msg, two shareholders in the SDA SE Open Industry Solutions platform (SDA SE). The SDA SE supports the developments of a new standard for digital services for the insurance industry.

SDA SE offers insurance companies a flexible way of setting up their own service platforms. Incorporating service-dominant architecture into its open-source platform, SDA SE allows companies to easily integrate existing IT systems and processes, onboard external partners and service providers, while retaining complete ownership of their data and analytics.

Munich Partner Eva-Maria Barbosa led the Norton Rose Fulbright team that included counsels Menso Engelmann (Hamburg) and Markus Müller, and associate Daniel Peppersack (Munich). Additionally, partner Maxim Kleine and associate Katja Weiss (Hamburg) provided antitrust advice, and partner Uwe Eppler and associate Julia Gallinger advised on tax-law related matters (Hamburg).

The team provided advice on the share purchase and participation agreement and shareholders' agreement. Norton Rose Fulbright advises Signal Iduna on a regular basis.
