Introduction to Mental Health Awareness

South Africa is facing a mental health emergency that is the culmination of the simultaneous crises that are imploding the hopes, dreams and dignity of many who live in the country. The stigma of mental illness and lack of understanding about appropriate professional support options are often significant barriers to early intervention. This session aims to increase personal mental health literacy, as well as ensure a greater understanding of the important role we each play in supporting the mental health of others.
