Norton Rose Fulbright represents lenders to debt-burdened Argentine soy processing giant

An informal steering committee representing the international lenders to Argentine soybean processing giant Vicentin SAIC selected global law firm Norton Rose Fulbright to represent it as the company faces a potential restructuring.

A US team from Norton Rose Fulbright will serve as the steering committee's international counsel as Vicentin addresses its more than US$1 billion in indebtedness.

Bruchou, Fernández, Madero & Lombardi will serve as the committee's Argentine counsel.

The committee will advocate for open, transparent and productive dealings with Vicentin and is considering inviting some of Vicentin's other Argentine and international creditors to join it.

In December, Vicentin, the top exporter of processed soy in Argentina and a well-known brand in the country, failed to make a payment on its debt and suspended at least some of its soy crushing operation. The company also announced then that it was drawing up a restructuring plan.

Howard Beltzer (New York) and Marissa Leigh Alcala (Washington, DC) are leading Norton Rose Fulbright's team, which includes Thomas J. Hall, Christy Rivera, Eric Daucher, Francisco Vazquez and Abigail Schwarz (New York).
