Norton Rose Fulbright wins twice at the 2021 IFLR1000 Canada and US Awards

Global law firm Norton Rose Fulbright was named Firm of the Year in Alberta at the second annual International Financial Law Review (IFLR) Canada and US Awards. The Canadian Restructuring and Insolvency group also garnered a Deal of the Year award for its work on the restructuring of Cirque du Soleil.  

The annual awards celebrate the most innovative and impactful domestic transactions conducted in the corporate finance space during 2020. Determined through extensive research, peer review and client feedback, the awards honour leading law firms, legal teams, and endeavour to reveal the most substantial domestic deals of the year.

About the Restructuring and Insolvency Deal of the Year 

Norton Rose Fulbright’s Montréal office acted as counsel to Investissement Québec (IQ) in providing a rescue package to Cirque du Soleil and its Canadian and US affiliates (CDS Group) through a stalking-horse bid in the context of its filing for protection under the Companies' Creditors Arrangement Act (CCAA).

The team included Steve Malas, Luc Morin, Nicolas Labrecque, Vincent Filiatrault, Martin Thériault, Guillaume Michaud, Nikita Stepin, Marc-Simon Duquette, Charles St-Pierre, Audrey Levesque, and William Provencher-Campeau.
