Ai Tong is a corporate lawyer based in Shanghai. She has more than ten years' experience in China-related corporate and regulatory matters,
Ai has considerable experience advising clients in cross-border merger and acquisition transactions, foreign direct investments, joint ventures and general corporate matters.
Specifically, Ai has extensive experience in dealing with China's financial and FinTech related regulations. Ai's experience includes advising clients on both transactions and regulatory matters involving foreign investments in China by foreign financial institutions, including but not limited to insurers(reinsurers), insurance intermediaries, banks, fund/asset managers, and on regulatory aspects of distribution and resale networks for financial products in China. Ai is also a core team member in the firm's insurance, FinTech and asset management practices in China.
Ai has been recognised as Rising star for "Insurance" sector in Legal 500 Asia Pacific 2021, and as for Rising star "Regulatory and Compliance" sector in Legal 500 Asia Pacific 2020 and 2021.
Ai studied law in China and the United States, and is dually qualified in China (2006) and the State of New York (2011). Before joining Norton Rose Fulbright, Ai has around 4 years' experience in a magic circle firm.
