Norton Rose Fulbright projects real estate team advises Earthrise Energy in Illinois solar project

Global law firm Norton Rose Fulbright advised Earthrise Energy (Earthrise) in the development of its Gibson City solar project, a 270 MW utility scale solar project in Illinois’ MISO power market, for which Earthrise recently obtained US$630 million tax equity and debt financing. Norton Rose Fulbright supported Earthrise on underlying real estate, title and survey matters for the project and the financing transaction.

Gibson City Solar will leverage existing interconnection rights held by Earthrise’s nearby natural gas plant, the Gibson City Energy Center, to deliver clean cost-effective power. The financing, which was announced on June 11, is the first to utilize surplus interconnection service in MISO.
