Chadbourne Advises Southern Cross on Acquisitions of Petrobras Chile Distribución and Getronics LATAM

Chadbourne & Parke LLP advised Southern Cross Group on two recent significant transactions: the purchase of Petrobras Chile Distribución Ltda. (PCD) from Petróleo Brasileiro S.A. (Petrobras) and the acquisition of Getronics LATAM from OpenGate Capital. The two deals are the latest acquisitions for Southern Cross, one of the leading private equity firms in Latin America. Chadbourne is a longtime outside advisor to Southern Cross, and has worked with the firm for twenty years.

Petrobras Chile Distribución

In January 2017, Southern Cross completed its acquisition of PCD. PCD owns 279 service stations, as well as eight fuel distribution terminals, operations in 11 airports, one lubricants plant and a stake in two logistics companies. PCD is the third largest fuel marketing company in Chile, with a 13% market share. The Chadbourne team advising Southern Cross was led by partners Kevin Smith and Morton Grosz, and included partner Erez Tucner and associates Jaime Huertas, Patrick Narvaez and Richard Wright. 

Getronics LATAM

In December 2016, Southern Cross completed its acquisition of Getronics LATAM, an integrated ICT products and services provider for the large enterprise market. With operations in Latin America, including Mexico and Colombia, the company provides workspace management services, connectivity, data centers and consulting services. The Chadbourne team advising Southern Cross was led by partners Kevin Smith and Morton Grosz, and included partner Erez Tucner, senior counsel Carey Child, and associates Patrick Dorime, Patrick Narvaez and Richard Wright.
