Biography

Brian Taylor's practice focuses on providing counsel and solicitor's services to local governments and regulatory bodies, the real estate profession, and other self-regulating organizations. Brian has extensive experience in advising clients regarding the extent of the powers of statutory and self-regulating organizations and the exercise of both their regulatory and corporate functions.

Brian's work has included advising local governments on a wide variety of matters, including subdivision and development issues, public/private partnerships, amenity zoning and conflicts of interest. He represents a broad range of local government clients, including the City of North Vancouver, the Township of Langley and the District of Sechelt. In addition to Brian's practice in local government law, he has for many years provided advice to local and provincial real estate boards and associations in British Columbia. He lectures extensively to the real estate profession on agency responsibilities and fiduciary obligations.

Brian is an experienced lecturer on administrative and local government law, having spoken at local universities and colleges and to the development community, to elected officials and municipal staff as well as to professional Continuing Legal Education sessions.
