Biography

Senior Counsel Phil Rothermich has over 25 years of health care legal experience, and concentrates his practice in health care transactional work, with a focus on joint ventures, practice acquisitions, and affiliations.  He has considerable experience representing hospitals, large physician groups, and other health care entities in structuring, negotiating and implementing strategic relationships.  In addition, Phil has played key roles in numerous complex hospital affiliation and acquisition transactions.  In these roles, Phil has counseled numerous clients on related health care regulatory matters such as Stark, anti-kickback, and antitrust issues.

In addition to previous substantial large law firm experience, Phil served as vice president of business development for Express Scripts, Inc., where he gained invaluable insights into electronic health care and the pharmaceutical supply chain.  He was involved nationally in helping to drive the evolution toward electronic prescribing, working closely with electronic health care vendors, standard setting organizations, lobbyists and regulators, and was instrumental in the development of an industry-wide electronic transaction exchange.
