Biography

Nick Grandage is a finance lawyer and the Global Head of Trade Finance. He has experience of all aspects of structured trade and commodity finance, including: pre-export and prepayment transactions; ownership finance; borrowing base transactions; and asset based lending. He advises on supply chain and receivables finance transactions (both on and off platform) as well as on receivables securitisations.

Nick acts for banks, trading companies and intermediaries in transactions around the world. His experience includes transactions involving energy, metals and soft commodities, as well as equipment, processed and semi-processed goods.

Nick is included in Chambers, 2019, in which clients describe him as "one of the top players," with a "depth of experience in the commodities world and a pragmatic approach." Legal 500, 2019 also describes him as "one the leading lights in the market" and "a banking expert" with a "stellar trade finance practice."

He is the co-author of The Law and Practice of True Sales, published by Butterworths.

Nick is admitted to practice law in England and Wales and is licensed to practice as a foreign legal consultant in the state of New York.
