Biography

Saajen Seetal is an associate on our banking and finance team. His practice focuses on banking, corporate finance and restructuring.

Saajen has experience on syndicated and bilateral financings, capital markets debt offerings, reserve and asset-based lending, acquisition financings, and project financings. He acts for both borrowers and lenders in national and cross-border transactions. Saajen also advises on insolvency and restructuring matters.

Saajen has acted for the following clients:

  • The bookrunners and agents in connection with Coastal GasLink Pipeline Limited Partnership’s record-breaking C$7.15 billion senior secured note offering. This offering was the largest in Canadian corporate history and consisted of 11 series of senior secured notes, ranging in size from $400 million to $600 million per series.
  • A renewable energy development company in connection with a C$60 million secured project financing for the construction, development and operation of a solar power facility in Alberta.
  • A major Canadian financial institution in the establishment of a C$2 billion syndicated revolving credit facility and uncommitted demand bilateral credit facilities.
  • Parkland Corporation on the structuring and negotiation of a C$210 million credit facility provided by Canada Infrastructure Bank (CIB) to support Parkland’s continued multi-year growth of its electric vehicle charging network.
  • A major Canadian financial institution, as administrative agent, and a syndicate of lenders in establishing a C$250 million senior secured revolving credit facility with a client in the energy industry.
