Farmida Bi CBE listed in inaugural Financial News’ South Asia Powerbrokers list

United Kingdom Press release - Recognition October 2025

Global law firm Norton Rose Fulbright is pleased to announce that Farmida Bi CBE has been named as one of Financial News’ South Asian Powerbrokers.

The list is the first global celebration of senior South Asian trailblazers in finance and related sectors who have demonstrated exceptional leadership and made significant contributions to their industries. It highlights the journeys of senior executives, how they rose through the ranks in the face of challenges, while also paving the way for the next generation of leaders.

The London Stock Exchange hosted a special Market Close ceremony and festive Diwali reception on October 21, 2025 to mark the launch of the South Asian Power Brokers list.

Farmida commented:

“It is an honour to be recognised among such an inspiring group of South Asian leaders. This acknowledgment reflects not only the progress we’ve made in increasing representation across the financial and legal sectors, but also the importance of continuing to champion inclusion and opportunity for all. I’m proud to be part of a firm and a wider community that values impact, purpose and progress.”

Farmida, who has over three decades of banking and finance experience, is widely recognised for her contributions to numerous community and charitable organisations. Farmida is a Vice-Chair of the Disasters Emergency Committee which brings together fifteen leading UK charities to raise funds quickly in a humanitarian emergency. Additionally, she is Chair of the International Regulatory Strategy Group Council and is a member of the Board of TheCityUK, an industry-led body to champion and support the success of the UK-based financial and related professional services ecosystem. Farmida is an Honorary Fellow of Downing College, Cambridge and of The Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment.

At Norton Rose Fulbright, she has held numerous leadership roles and is a key sponsor of initiatives and programmes that support the recruitment, retention and progression of women and minority groups at the firm.
