Norton Rose advises bank syndicate on financing of GIGA Leopard battery storage project

Global law firm Norton Rose Fulbright has advised a syndicate of lenders on the financing of the ‘Giga Leopard’ 300MW/1200MWh battery storage project in Delfzijl, Netherlands.

InfraVia, the majority shareholder of the battery storage project, is a leading independent private investment firm, specialising in real assets - infrastructure, critical metals, real estate - and technology investments.

GIGA Storage is developing the project which is expected to be commissioned in H2 2027 and that will have the capacity to deliver renewable energy to all Dutch households for more than half an hour.

The cross-border Norton Rose Fulbright team was led by Amsterdam banking and finance partner Wouter Hertzberger and included counsel Jasper Dijkshoorn, senior associate Tamara Ubink, associates Willemijn Holm and Bea Byrne Hill. Amsterdam energy partner Marjolein Dieperink, London banking and finance partner, Nigel Dickinson, Global Co-Head of Energy Rob Marsh, and Austin projects partner Luke Edney also advised on key legal aspects of this project.
