Global law firm Norton Rose Fulbright is pleased to announce it is expanding its Canadian estates, trusts and wealth management practice in Toronto with the addition of a new partner.

Joining the team is Amanda Stacey, whose Toronto practice will focus on estate planning, family business succession planning, and private company governance and reorganizations.  A significant portion of Amanda’s practice will also relate to the establishment, governance, taxation and regulation of charities and other not-for-profit organizations.

Amanda Stacey, estates, trusts and wealth management partner in Toronto, said:

“I am delighted to join a practice group that is so highly regarded nationally and internationally, and I am excited about the opportunities that the Norton Rose Fulbright platform offers its clients.”

Carmen Thériault, estates, trusts and wealth management senior partner in Vancouver, commented:

“We are thrilled.  Amanda is a very skilled lawyer who is highly regarded by her peers.  She is used to dealing with complicated estate planning, succession and charity related issues for individual clients, charities and financial institutions. Her presence in Toronto will greatly benefit our clients there and across the country as so many have business interests, family members and other stakeholders in that market. Her presence will allow us to continue to grow our wealth management practice nationally and globally.”

Called to the Ontario bar in 2005, Amanda Stacey is the national Chair of the Canadian Association of Gift Planners. Fluent in French, she often writes and speaks on estate planning, charity and not-for-profit issues for organizations and publications such as the Canadian Tax Foundation, the Ontario Bar Association, the Law Society of Ontario and the Estates, Trusts and Pensions Journal.

Norton Rose Fulbright`s Vancouver practice team was selected as "Private Client Legal Team of the Year" at the 2016/2017 international STEP Private Client Awards. This prestigious award recognizes professional excellence among lawyers advising families across generations on private client matters.
