Jamie Nowak heads the German litigation and disputes practice and is based in Munich. He focuses on contentious matters and proceedings, primarily in technology-driven industries.
Jamie has broad experience of national and international litigation, mediation and arbitration matters. He advises and represents clients across various industries, predominantly in corporate and general commercial disputes. Jamie regularly handles complex international product liability cases and assists in internal and governmental investigations and cross-border discovery proceedings, with aspects of data protection in particular. His non-contentious experience includes general commercial contract law and IT/IP matters.
The German legal directory JUVE has mentioned Jamie for years as a frequently recommended practitioner in "dispute resolution - commercial and liability: litigation". In JUVE's 2020/2021 edition, he is described by a client as a "top litigator". His peers rate him as "well connected" (JUVE 2020/2021), "assertive and very experienced" (JUVE 2019/2020), "very well connected" (JUVE 2018/2019) and as having the "best contacts to the courts", being "internationally very strong" and "assertive and experienced" (JUVE 2017/2018). According to the survey kanzleimonitor.de 2019/2020, conducted among in-house counsel, Jamie ranks among the top four recommended lawyers for dispute resolution in Germany, and in Acritas Stars' global research of senior in-house counsel, he was named as one of the most outstanding lawyers.
Jamie holds a law degree and a master's in International and European Commercial Law from Munich University (LL.M. Eur.). He is certified in the field of corporate and commercial law (Fachanwalt für Handels- und Gesellschaftsrecht), a member of the German American Lawyers Association, the German Institution of Arbitration (DIS) and the German Association of Law and Informatics (DGRI).
Jamie is fluent in German and English.
