Magdalena Oropeza is an associate in the firm's New York office, where she is a member of the Financial Services practice group. Magdalena focuses her practice on advising clients on the development and regulation of financial services and products in the FinTech sector.  This includes cryptocurrency, smart contracts, blockchain and other disruptive technologies for both start-ups and global financial institutions.

Before Ms. Oropeza joined, we sponsored her as a pro bono Legal Fellow at The Door, which serves low-income and at-risk youth in New York City. As a fellow, Ms. Oropeza represented undocumented immigrant youth in removal (deportation) proceedings before the New York Immigration Court an in related proceedings in the New York State court system. Ms. Oropeza obtained Lawful Permanent Residence (a "green card") for dozens of abuse, neglected, and persecuted children. Ms. Oropeza remains active in the firm's pro bono practice.
