Biography

Suzana Lobo focuses on all areas of banking and finance. Her experience includes acting for banks, borrowers and financial institutions in complex secured and unsecured lending transactions, including international and cross-border financings, syndicated loan transactions, acquisition finance transactions, construction and real estate financings, equipment financings, project financings and debt restructuring transactions.

Prior to joining our Toronto office, Ms. Lobo practised at another major law firm in Toronto in banking and financial services.

  • VW Credit Canada, Inc. in connection with the renewal of Volkswagen’s €25 billion debt issuance programme
  • JPMorgan Chase Bank, N.A., as administrative agent and collateral agent, in the US$1.45 billion senior secured credit facility providing term and revolving facilities in favour of Cedar Fair L.P., Magnum Management Corporation and Canada's Wonderland Company
  • Garda in a private placement in the United States and Canada of two series of 9.75 per cent senior unsecured notes due 2017 in the aggregate principal amounts of US$250 million and $75 million, and a bank refinancing consisting of a $215 million secured three-year term loan and a $125 million secured three-year revolving credit facility
  • Parq Holdings Limited Partnership in connection with a US $415 million project financing
  • TELUS International (Cda) Inc. in connection with a US $330 million secured audit facility provided by a syndicate of lenders led by The Bank of Nova Scotia and The Toronto-Dominion Bank
  • Porter Aviation Holdings Inc. and City Centre Terminal Corp. in the sale of the passenger terminal at Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport to Nieuport Aviation Infrastructure GP, a consortium of Canadian and international infrastructure equity investors
  • Borealis Infrastructure Management Inc. in connection with financing the acquisition of a diagnostic business
  • McKesson Canada in various financing-related matters
  • Royal Bank of Canada in its acquisition of ABN Amro Bank NV's Canadian commercial leasing division
