Christine de Lint has been practising all aspects of trade-mark agency work for 20 years. Ms. de Lint assists clients with the clearance of trade-marks, filing and prosecuting trade-mark applications, licensing of trade-marks, trade-mark oppositions and non-use expungement proceedings before the Trade-marks Office and Opposition Board. She also coordinates and maintains international filings related to the trade-mark portfolios for national and international corporations.
Ms. de Lint also assists in the intellectual property aspects of commercial transactions. Her role includes due diligence, the preparation of assignments, licenses and other documents relating to intellectual property and the filing of those documents in the appropriate offices.
Prior to joining us in 2013, Ms. de Lint practised trade-mark agency work for 15 years in the intellectual property groups of two other major Canadian law firms, following which she went in-house to handle the global trade-mark portfolio of Research In Motion (now BlackBerry).
Ms. de Lint studied economics and sociology at the University of Toronto from 1989 to 1992 prior to completing the law clerk program at Mohawk College with honours in 1996 and qualifying as a registered trade-mark agent in 2000.
