Biography
Matthew Lau is a research lawyer based in our Toronto office. Matthew advises clients and our other lawyers on a broad range of legal topics, including financial regulation, consumer protection, anti-money laundering, and derivatives. Matthew also prepares legal arguments and factums for significant litigation.
Matthew joined our office as a summer student in 2013 and returned to complete his articles with us in 2014-2015. During his articles, Matthew completed a secondment in the Royal Bank of Canada's general counsel group, where he worked on securities, regulatory and privacy matters.
Prior to joining us, Matthew worked as a prosecutor for the City of Toronto, where he prosecuted traffic offences at the Ontario Court of Justice.
