Biography
Jean Lee focuses on prosecuting intellectual property applications and managing IP portfolios, primarily in the field of life sciences, biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, medical devices, and chemical arts.
Her patent practice includes originating drafting, legal opinions, and patent office proceedings for a broad range of clients, including large multinational corporations, start-up companies, academic institutions, and medical and healthcare professionals. She has also obtained patent rights or managed patent prosecution in various jurisdictions, including the US, Europe, China, Japan, and a number of countries in South America and the Middle East. Ms. Lee's practice also includes obtaining design and trademark rights.
Prior to law school, Ms. Lee graduated with an honours degree in pharmacology from the University of British Columbia. Ms. Lee worked at a Japanese chemical analysis company performing drug analysis, and interned at the biochemistry department of the University of British Columbia, researching in cancer drug development.
