Biography

Shea Haass joined the Dallas office of the Firm in 2006.  After transferring to the Middle East Practice Group in 2009 and joining the Dubai and Riyadh offices for several years, Shea returned to the Dallas office. Shea forms part of the litigation, international arbitration and dispute resolution teams. His practice spans a broad array of industries, with representative experience in the healthcare, energy, financial institutions, insurance, manufacturing, construction, and telecommunications sectors.

  • Represented institutional lender in US federal court proceedings relating to a dispute over the interpretation of financing documents; after trial in 2013, received judgment for all relief requested, including over $11.9 million in value, plus attorneys' fees and interest
  • Represented Texas hospital systems in numerous American Arbitration Association (AAA) and American Health Lawyers Association (AHLA) arbitrations involving payor violations of the Texas Prompt Pay Act
  • Represented oilfield services company in Texas state court proceedings concerning misappropriation of trade secrets
  • Represented healthcare provider in US federal court proceedings concerning misappropriation of trade secrets

  • Represented numerous multi-national companies in various labor disputes in Saudi Arabia
  • Advised numerous US and European companies regarding establishing a business presence in Saudi Arabia, including registering a branch office, forming a limited liability company, forming a professional engineering company and negotiating joint ventures
  • Advised numerous US, European and Asian companies regarding licensing, regulatory, importation, distribution, manufacturing, labor and general commercial matters in Saudi Arabia
  • Represented multiple US companies in structuring investments and selling and purchasing shares in Saudi Arabian companies
