Biography

Bryan Wittman is senior counsel in the San Antonio office.  His corporate practice is focused on mergers and acquisitions, venture capital, securities law and general corporate and contract law.  Bryan began his legal career in the Chicago office of Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom.

Bryan has represented buyers and sellers in public and private stock purchase, asset purchase, merger and tender offer transactions, as well as acquisitions of businesses out of bankruptcy.  His equity investment experience spans the spectrum from traditional venture capital, angel and start-up investments (representing financial investors, strategic investors, companies and founders) to investments in companies being reorganized under Chapter 11 and private investments in public entity transactions (PIPEs). 

Bryan also has experience in:

  • federal securities law, including compliance with the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002
  • corporate takeover defense, including shareholder rights plans (the "poison pill")
  • Internet media, software development & licensing
  • contract law
  • public finance
  • general corporate law
