Biography
Naomi Schuitema is a data protection, privacy and cybersecurity lawyer (advocaat) based in Amsterdam and a member of the global data protection, privacy and cybersecurity practice. She specialises in Dutch and EU data protection law, including the GDPR, the Data Act and the NIS2 Directive, and has extensive experience in cyber incident response.
Naomi advises clients on complex data protection and cybersecurity matters across highly regulated sectors. Her practice covers all aspects of data protection compliance, including data mapping, risk assessments (including DPIAs and TIAs), policies and controls, the drafting and negotiation of data processing agreements, and advice on cross‑border data transfers (including SCCs). She also advises throughout the full lifecycle of cybersecurity incidents, including initial response, containment and remediation, liaising with regulators and coordinating the legal, technical and communications workstreams.
Naomi works with a diverse range of clients, in particular large multinational corporations active in the TMT, fintech, aviation and manufacturing space. She helps them navigate regulatory requirements, implement robust compliance programmes and respond effectively to data breaches and other cybersecurity incidents.
