Norton Rose Fulbright advises on $2.3 billion offer for Vivo Energy

Global law firm Norton Rose Fulbright is advising HSBC as financial adviser to the Vitol Group on its $2.3 billion recommended cash offer for Vivo Energy plc (Vivo).

Vivo distributes and markets Shell and Engen branded fuels and lubricants to retail and commercial customers in Africa and operates in 23 countries across north, west, east and southern Africa where it has a network of over 2,400 service stations.

The Vitol Group, founded in 1966, is one of the largest independent energy marketing and trading companies in the world. In 2020, Vitol traded over 339 million tonnes of crude oil and products and generated US$140 billion of revenues.

The London-based Norton Rose Fulbright team is being led by corporate partner Paul Whitelock and banking partner James Dunnett with support from counsel, Nic Sirtoli.
