Corporate trustees: Companies House updates guidance on non-compliance with ID verification requirements

Since November 18, 2025, new identification verification requirements have applied to company directors, including those of corporate pension trustees. Companies House has published updated guidance on its approach to enforcement of the new measures.

In cases of non-compliance, Companies House will "be guided by value for money and the principles of using our powers proportionately, consistently, transparently and in an evidence based and targeted way." The guidance sets out enforcement options and how the most appropriate action will be chosen.
