Lisa Cabel exerce en droit de l’emploi et du travail. Elle conseille et représente des employeurs tant du secteur public que du secteur privé relativement aux questions suivantes :

  • Droit du travail – relations de travail, interprétation de conventions collectives, négociations collectives, demandes d’accréditation syndicale, injonctions et autres questions connexes.
  • Droit de l’emploi – politiques et contrats d’emploi, mesures disciplinaires et licenciements, normes du travail, recours en congédiement injustifié, santé et sécurité au travail, insolvabilité et injonctions.
  • Droit de la personne – recours en discrimination, plainte de harcèlement, politiques en milieu de travail et enquêtes en milieu de travail.

Mme Cabel a représenté des clients devant la Commission des relations de travail de l’Ontario, le  Tribunal des droits de la personne de l’Ontario, la Cour supérieure de justice de l’Ontario, la Cour divisionnaire de l’Ontario et la Cour d’appel de l’Ontario. Elle a également agi avec succès comme médiatrice et arbitre dans de nombreuses causes.

Ms. Cabel has represented clients in the following matters:

  • Counsel for Green Shield Canada Inc. where the HRTO dismissed an application on the basis there was no prospect of success in a claim that alleged discrimination because the employer-sponsored insurance plan refused to pay for medical cannabis. 
  • A national consumer products company in arbitration further to which the just cause termination of an employee was upheld
  • A subsidiary of one of the largest international software development companies successfully defending against an alleged constructive dismissal
  • An insurance administrator in having an action dismissed on the basis the claim was arbitrable
  • An international automotive manufacturer seeking an injunction against union employees
  • A leading global logistics services provider in the timely negotiation of three collective agreements
  • Numerous respondents, including the City of Toronto and a Toronto-area hospital, in defending against claims of discrimination
