Ipso facto law reform seminar

The “ipso facto” reforms come into effect on 1 July 2018, meaning construction industry participants have just over a month to amend their contracts and, more importantly, processes to adjust to the new paradigm.

Exposure drafts of the related regulations and declaration have now been released, providing (some) clarity on how the reforms will operate.

In light of this, please join us for a short presentation which will explore:

• the ipso facto reforms;
• the application of the reforms to the construction industry;
• the extent to which template contracts should be amended;
• strategies to manage insolvent downstream parties (for contracts entered into post 1 July 2018); and
• how the US market has dealt with similar reforms – sharing knowledge gained from our US colleagues.
