Biography

Marc Hamilton is an asset finance partner based in Dubai.

He focuses on aircraft finance, rail finance and cross-border leasing and structured finance transactions.

Marc has acted for airlines, banks, export-credit agencies, arrangers, lessors and investors on a range of matters including supplier and buyer credit facilities, syndicated loans, pre-delivery financings, the sale and purchase of aircraft, cross-border and domestic aircraft leases and leases of rolling stock, tax-enhanced structures, insurance, European Investment Bank financings, and the granting and enforcement of security.

International legal directories rank Marc among the leading individuals in the field of asset and aviation finance (Legal 500, Chambers Europe, Who's Who Legal). Marc has been annually named in The International Who's Who of Aviation Lawyers since 2011, where he is identified as one of the practitioners who stand out worldwide and is described and provides "excellent" advice on finance transactions.

Most recently, Marc has acted for lenders with respect to the export credit supported financings in Africa western and eastern Europe, for example, the financing of a hospital in Zambia, farm machinery in the Ukraine and military accommodation in Zambia.

Marc also acts regularly for the European export credit agencies, for example, BPI and SACE with respect to the financing of ATR aircraft for a Mexican based airline and with respect to the first export credit agency supported financing of the SuperJet 100 aircraft for delivery to a Mexican airline. Marc has also been active in the rail sector where he has advised a Swiss lender in the financing of a major rail operator's purchase of rolling stock for use in urban transport in Sweden.

Marc studied psychology at Trinity College, Dublin and completed the CPE and LPC at the College of Law, London. He joined our Paris office in 2001 and became a partner in 2007.
