Norton Rose Fulbright represents Friedman Industries in Century Metals and Supplies acquisition

United States Press release - Business setembro 2025

Global law firm Norton Rose Fulbright represented Texas-based steel manufacturer Friedman Industries, Incorporated (Friedman) in its acquisition of Century Metals and Supplies, Inc. (Century Metals). The deal closed on August 29, 2025.

The all-cash purchase, which strategically expands Friedman’s presence in the southeastern US and Latin American markets, enhances the company’s hot-rolled steel business and adds coil slitting capabilities. It also broadens the company’s product portfolio to include cold-rolled, coated and stainless steels, as well as non-ferrous materials such as aluminum, copper and brass.

Founded in 1965, Friedman operates eight processing and distribution facilities across Arkansas, Alabama, Florida, Indiana, Illinois and Texas. The company’s steel products are used in heavy equipment, storage containers and tanks, railcars, trucks and trailers, HVAC and more. With the acquisition, Friedman gains strategic access to the growing residential and corrosion-resistant markets.

Century Metals has generated average annual revenues of more than US$110 million over the last three years. The acquisition includes working capital, buildings, processing and other equipment along with the related real estate. In addition to the owned facilities in Miami, the deal also includes leased distribution and warehouse facilities in Orlando and Tampa. Operations will continue as Century Metals and Supplies LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of Friedman.

Norton Rose Fulbright’s Texas-based deal team was led by Brian Fenske and included Ammad Waheed, Ron Adzgery, Juan Velasquez, Sloka Borrego (Houston), Ridley Holmes (Austin) and Todd Schroeder (Dallas).
