Our projects practice is one of the largest in the world, with over 350 project and project finance lawyers located across our 50+ offices. Collaborating across our global team, we act on some of the most innovative, complex and challenging projects in the world. Over the past five years, we have closed 470 project finance transactions globally, totaling over US$278 billion – the most of any law firm by deal volume (IJGlobal Q1, 2024).

We represent lenders, sponsors, developers, institutional investors, contractors, operators and government entities in major domestic and cross-border projects and project financings.

Working in close collaboration with our global colleagues, our projects team in Japan advises Japanese clients on projects around the world in renewables, hydrogen, power, LNG, oil and gas, natural resources, petrochemicals and other energy infrastructure sectors, as well as on mining and metals and transportation infrastructure, including rail, road, ports, airports and shipping projects.

In addition, we are proud to be at the heart of the transition to low carbon economy and are able to assist clients in all industries assess and respond to opportunities and challenges that arise as the energy market continues to develop.
