US team advises private equity firm on purchase of leading lighting company

A US team advised CORE Industrial Partners, a Chicago-based private equity firm, on its recent acquisition of Fleco Industries, Inc., a leading provider of lights and lighting solutions.

Based in the Dallas suburb of Carrollton, Texas, Fleco operates through multiple brands, including Saylite, Texas Fluorescents Reinvented, Mobern, Lights Fantastic, Lights Fantastic Pro, Lite and LFP Lighting. Following the acquisition, it will transition its overall corporate name to Saylite.

Fleco has two manufacturing locations and four state-of-the-art lighting experience showrooms that provide innovative lighting solutions for a variety of applications. It offers LED-based products, controls and other lighting products for commercial, industrial and premium residential use.

CORE invests in North American lower middle-market manufacturing and industrial technology businesses and is comprised of highly experienced former CEOs and investment professionals with proven track records of building market leading businesses. CORE anticipates pursuing strategic acquisitions with Saylite to extend its brand and product offerings.

Paul Conneely (Dallas) and S. Ward Atterbury (New York) led the deal team with support from Jared D. Kaplan (New York) and Bekah Maloney (Dallas). Among the others who contributed were: Michael P. Flamenbaum, David Gallai, Nandini Rao, Jarret S. Stephens (New York), Eddie Lewis (Houston), Bob Greenslade (Houston and Denver) and Katherine Madianos (Austin).
