Financial services

Meet the team

Our team of financial institutions lawyers has many years of experience in advising on all aspects of South African financial markets regulation, including Stock Exchanges law. We are well versed in the rules and directives of the major stock exchanges and have a substantial client base in this area. We advise banks and other members of the exchanges on membership obligations and documentation requirements, and with a global network of financial services lawyers, we are able to provide cross-border advice in Europe, the United States, Canada, Latin America, Asia, Australia, the Middle East and Central Asia.

We act for major local financial institutions as well as numerous foreign banks and institutions which have either established a presence in South Africa or which trade on South African markets. We assist with Financial Services Board registrations and amendments of licences, including all aspects of registration of collective investment schemes.

Maintaining close relationships with the International Swaps and Derivatives Association Inc. (ISDA), the Bond Market Association (TBMA) and the International Capital Markets Association (ICMA), the financial services team is actively shaping the future at the heart of the industry in South Africa.
