Our Montreal office successfully represented International Refills Company, Ltd. (IRC), a subsidiary of the Angelcare Group, in a complex patent infringement case before the Higher Regional Court of Düsseldorf.

This decision is a significant victory and is part of a series of actions taken by the Angelcare Group to fight patent infringement in several countries against various infringers, including proceedings aimed at removing counterfeit products from eCommerce platforms.

At the heart of the legal dispute were refill cassettes designed for innovative diaper and cat litter bins sold under the Angelcare, Diaper Genie, Litter Genie and LitterLocker brands, which are distributed in more than 50 countries worldwide.

Our Montreal team drafted, managed and defended an extensive portfolio of patents and industrial designs, working closely with our colleagues in Munich and other international offices. This integrated approach demonstrates our ability to mobilize global resources to protect our clients’ intellectual property rights.
