Our India practice

We are privileged to have developed one of the foremost India practices assisting not only some of India’s largest conglomerates and financial institutions on their global activities but also advising some of the largest corporations worldwide who have interests in India. This stems from decades of experience and respect for India as a jurisdiction and the Indian people.

In this vein we have a large number of multi lingual practitioners across our 56 offices around the world who either originate from India or have an in-depth knowledge of the jurisdiction, its culture and local business practices. This allows us to continue to build and maintain relationships to provide tailored, practical and commercial advice on ground breaking transactions and disputes.

Testament to our world class India practice is the rise in the number, size and complexity of India-related matters on which we advise across all practice areas including on all forms of dispute resolution and international arbitration, white collar crime, cross border M&A and joint ventures, banking and finance, regulatory and compliance, projects, risk advisory, securities litigation, regulation and enforcement. This is across all sectors that are relevant to India including energy, construction, infrastructure and resources, transport, pharmaceuticals, commodities, technology and financial institutions. Therefore it is no surprise that our experienced lawyers and substantial connections enable us to provide clients with a quality of service commensurate with the highest international standards.

We coordinate our India practice through a global group across Asia, Europe, Middle East, USA, Canada, Australia and Africa, sharing know-how, including market intelligence and resources for clients undertaking disputes or transactions in or involving India.

While we cannot advise on Indian law due to the Bar Council of India’s restrictions on foreign law firms, we have a strong record of advising clients with interests in India, as well as acting for Indian corporations and financial institutions on their global activities. In this regard, we maintain strong ties and work closely with law firms based in India in order to offer effective representation to all our clients.
