Norton Rose Fulbright advises Leonardo Hotels on the acquisition of two properties in Hannover Medical Park

Germany Press release - Business July 2025

Global law firm Norton Rose Fulbright has advised Leonardo Hotel Group on the acquisition of two existing hotels from Essendi in Hannover Medical Park.

Leonardo Hotels, headquartered in Berlin, is an international hotel chain with over 270 hotels in more than 21 countries and 117 destinations in Europe, the UK and Israel. The spectrum ranges from small suite hotels to grand hotels in beach locations. Leonardo Hotels is part of the Fattal Hotel Group.

As part of a comprehensive rebranding, the two acquired hotels will be united under the new name Leonardo Hannover Medical Park. With this repositioning, Leonardo Hotels now operates three locations in Hanover and is consistently expanding its role as a strong player in the regional hotel and conference market.

Thanks to its prime location in the heart of the Hannover Medical Park - a vibrant center for business, research and health - the new Leonardo Hotel offers ideal conditions for business travelers, event guests and international visitors alike.

Team lead Dr. Maren Stölting (Real Estate, Munich) commented: “I am delighted that we have once again supported Leonardo Hotels in this next growth step - a strong sign of their continuous expansion and confidence in the German market.”

She was supported by partners Simon Weppner (Tax, Düsseldorf) and Claudia Posluschny (Employment, Munich), counsel Dr. Riccardo Marinello (Real Estate, Munich) and associates Matthias Kemnitzer (Real Estate, Munich), Sarah Heufelder (Tax, Munich) and Roman Kalitsev (Employment, Munich).

On the Leonardo Hotels side, Tamar Cohen (Group Legal Counsel) and Jana Schlimgen (Senior Legal Counsel) acted in an advisory capacity.

Tamar Cohen comments: “We are pleased to have successfully completed this transaction with Essendi (formerly AccorInvest) to the satisfaction of both parties. At Leonardo Hotels, we strongly believe in the strength, stability, and reliability of the German market and continue to expand our footprint with over 75 hotels across the country.”
