The applicable legislation establishing a national screening mechanism for foreign direct investments (FDI) and implementing Regulation (EU) 2019/452 in Greece is Law 5202/2025, which was adopted on 22 May 2025 (Greek FDI Law).

La Corte di Cassazione, con la sentenza n. 3016 del 6 febbraio 2025, ha confermato che l’infortunio assicurabile deve intendersi come un “evento causato da una causa fortuita, violenta ed esterna che provoca lesioni fisiche”. Di conseguenza, le malattie infettive non derivanti da un evento traumatico (come il contagio da virus senza trauma) non rientrano nelle coperture previste dalle polizze infortuni.
Questa decisione conferma che la normativa emergenziale introdotta durante la pandemia – che aveva temporaneamente equiparato le infezioni da Coronavirus a infortuni sul lavoro per l’intervento dell’Inail – non modifica né estende automaticamente la copertura delle polizze private.
In sostanza, salvo diversa previsione nel contratto, le polizze infortuni non coprono le malattie infettive, che invece sono tipicamente coperte dalle polizze malattia.

On 29 May 2025, in Finlayson v Caterpillar Financial Services Corp [2025] UKPC 24 (The Bahamas), the Judicial Committee of the Privy Council of the United Kingdom (the Privy Council) heard the appeal of Mr Garet O Finlayson and Mr Mark Finlayson (the Appellants) following the Supreme Court of the Bahamas and the Court of Appeal of the Bahamas finding in favour of the respondent, Caterpillar Financial Services Corporation (the Respondent).
