Welcome to the sixth edition of the Commonwealth Quarterly
Canberra’s winter presents a delightful combination of frosty mornings below freezing and glorious, sun-filled days. Having now hit our shortest (and coldest) day of the year and with the countdown to spring on, grab that cosy blanket (or puffer jacket) and mosey through our winter publication of the Commonwealth Quarterly.
We are excited to offer a variety of articles this edition:

- the Australian Government declared six possible offshore wind zones across Australia in August last year. Key amendments to the UAE Commercial Companies Law and their practical impact
Federal Decree Law No. (20) of 2025 (the Amendment) introduces significant reforms to Federal Decree Law No. (32) of 2021 on Commercial Companies (Commercial Companies Law). The Amendment refines the jurisdictional reach of the law, streamlines company operations and reflects the modernisation of the UAE’s traditionally civil law based framework, with the introduction of common law concepts and principles.
