Production of renewable crude oil

Scope of work

The team assisted a client in obtaining patent protection for its process to produce a renewable fuel, including gasoline and diesel, from used fats and oils rather than from crude oil.

This renewable crude will allow a petroleum refinery to produce fuels and other hydrocarbon products with a lower carbon footprint, without requiring any new equipment. The technology has proven to be widely commercially successful with demand significantly exceeding supply to date.
