Biography

Dr. Klaus Bader is a corporate lawyer based in Munich and head of our European energy practice.

He has in-depth experience in domestic and cross-border M&A and private equity transactions, joint ventures and corporate reorganizations with a strong focus on the energy, infrastructure and technology sector. He works predominantly for infrastructure and private equity funds and international corporates.

  • EQT Energy Transition Fund - on the acquisition of ju:niz Energy GmbH, a German-based developer and operator of intelligent, large-scale battery energy storage systems
  • Green Flexibility GmbH and its founders - on the investment of Partners Group of up to EUR 400 million
  • Omnes Capital and ILOS Founders - on the sale of Omnes’ stake in ILOS Projects to AXA IM Alts and the ILOS Founders on the future JV with AXA IM Alts. ILOS Projects is an independent pan-European producer of renewable energy from photovoltaic plants
  • MEAG - on the sale of the 109 MW German onshore wind project Aquilo in an auction process including an extensive vendor due diligence review of the portfolio
  • Total Renewables S.A.S. - on its agreement with wpd to acquire 23 percent interest in Yunlin Holding GmbH, the owner of Yunlin offshore wind farm located off the coast of Taiwan, and the subsequent restructuring
  • BP - on the acquisition of GETEC Energie, a German company focusing on energy services such as procurement, delivery, and sale of energy
  • Ancala Partners - on the acquisition of a 50 percent stake in smart meter specialist Hausheld AG to support major smart meter rollouts in Germany
  • JERA Americas - on a wholly owned subsidiary of Japan’s largest power producer JERA on its primary and secondary investment as lead investor of an investment consortium in Hydrogenious LOHC Technologies, a German company active in the field of production and sale of process-technology
  • Vulcan Energy - on the first project section of Vulcan Energy for the construction of geothermal power plants with extraction of lithium and further processing of lithium for car battery production (financing > EUR 1 billion, total volume > EUR 1.8 billion)
  • InfraRed Capital Partners - on its EUR 150 million investment in EV fast charging station developer JOLT Energy
