Biography
Haney Saadah is the Managing Director of Risk Consulting for Europe, Middle East and Asia based in London.
Haney has extensive experience in the delivery of highly technical programs of work in broad areas of risk, including regulatory, governance and operational, conduct and reputational risk along with specific advice on more general regulatory advisory topics and interventions. He has worked in and across all the key global financial hubs with a variety of financial services providers, from capital markets firms and asset managers through to a range of commercial banks, payments firms and technology suppliers, along with regulators and governments.
As well as leading global programs for requirements that bring significant business and industry impact and reach, Haney has led a number of industry-wide regulatory consultations for both the FCA and PRA. His experience extends to broader operating and infrastructure considerations, and he often provides strategic risk advice on a range of domestic and international issues affecting senior leaders. He is also a regular panellist and media commentator on regulation and risk topics affecting the industry such as ESG, financial crime, operational and cyber resilience and conduct risk.
Haney also works across a number of industries including wholesale asset management, commercial and retail, hospitality, luxury goods and health care.
Before joining the firm, Haney was an Interim Deputy Head of Compliance and Senior Advisor for BlackRock in EMEA. Prior to this, he was a Partner and Head of Regulatory Risk and Compliance Advisory at another international law firm. Haney is an alumnus of the Big 4 where he held EMEA leadership roles and UK practice leadership. He started his career in IBD/markets front office, working for both Barclays and UBS AG in equity brokerage/investment advisory roles.

Led:
- The advice and implementation of MIFID II, across multiple jurisdictions, from first advice through to model design and core elements of strategy and implementation for several vertically integrated global banks, commercial & retail banks and asset & wealth managers. He has also provided specific advisory impacts for APAC and North American hubs. Haney was specially retained by both an Asian and North American headquartered bank with strong European links, to specifically work with their leadership in understanding the direct and indirect regulatory and product impacts from MIFID II.*
- A global team across a tier one commercial/corporate bank on the establishment of a dedicated correspondent banking risk function, to facilitate transactional currency risk for corporate and IBD teams, encompassing financial crime regulatory risk and operational risk factors.*
- A consortium of diversified banks and services providers to respond to the FCA and PRA's initial consultation on operational resilience on behalf of UK Finance.*
- On numerous due diligence matters, either within an M&A capacity or advising on specific rectification and remediation issues across a range of conduct, AML and post-regulatory implementation.*

- Several European and North American banks – on the impacts of LIBOR transition and the key regulatory and conduct risks associated with changeover.*
- A number of UK and overseas headquartered firms – in setting up branch or subsidiaries in the UK, including review and variation of existing activities.*
- Several large banks – on cross-border issues involving both financial crime and broader anti-money laundering policy and controls.*
- Commercial banks in a key European jurisdiction – in conjunction with regulator and government communications, on the impacts of significant regulatory requirements derived from changes in the small and medium business banking market – with significant benchmarking to the UK regime.*
