Biography

Jaime Wing is a lawyer on the Product Liability and Consumer Disputes team based in Minneapolis. He focuses on defending Fortune 500 manufacturers of consumer goods, medical devices, and industrial equipment. He has also successfully pursued affirmative recoveries for clients engaged in diverse sectors ranging from health care to food and beverage. His experience spans the breadth of civil litigation, including investigation, pleadings, fact and expert discovery, dispositive motions, jury trials, and appeals. Jaime also maintains an active pro bono practice centered on expungement of stale criminal convictions and immigrants' rights. Before practicing law, he served as a commissioned officer in the United States Army.

  • Nearly make-whole recovery for large premium pet food producer, totaling mid-eight figures, based on supplier’s fraudulent sale of mislabeled ingredients.
  • Complete defense verdict in favor of medical device manufacturer that faced allegations of product liability. Case was tried in state court following remand from one of the largest ongoing federal multidistrict litigations.
  • Obtained affirmative summary judgment and defeated counterclaim for Canadian consumer goods maker in suit over unpaid product. Favorable ruling on issue of first impression led to award of attorney's fees.
  • A US$25.6 million federal jury verdict for compensatory and punitive damages on behalf of health insurers against perpetrators of a laboratory billing fraud. Trial team chosen as 2021 Attorneys of the Year by Minnesota Lawyer.
  • Obtained summary judgment for digital forensics company in bankruptcy adversary proceeding involving alleged preferential transfer.
  • Favorable resolution, including cash payment, of health insurer's dispute with national provider that engaged in widespread kickback scheme.
  • Several favorable pre-suit settlements for large medical device manufacturer in whistleblower matters.
  • Secured US$15.4 million in settlements for 32-year-old man injured in combustible dust fire, with full resolution at mediation.
