UNCITRAL Academy 2021: Potential Uses of Mediation in Debt Restructuring and Insolvency

Scott Atkins recently participated in a series of panels as part of Singapore Convention Week 2021. The panels focused on the potential uses of mediation in debt restructuring and insolvency and the benefits of mediation in the cross-border arena. The event, held annually, is co-organised by the Singapore Ministry of Law and UNCITRAL to celebrate the Singapore Convention on Mediation coming into force on 12 September 2020. Scott attended in his capacity as INSOL President.

This continues Scott’s strong advocacy and thought leadership on the development of improved insolvency and restructuring processes globally, including through the use of dedicated MSME insolvency regimes and through mediation as a genuine informal restructuring alternative.
